DC vs Marvel Part 1

Hey, it's been forever since an update, but I realized I've got some nerd stuff to review, so here it goes.

Hey everyone, I'm here today to talk about the newest development in the battle between DC and Marvel. Recently, DC used its Warner Brothers connections to get an hour block on Cartoon Network on Saturdays mornings for "DC Nation". DC Nation includes the all new episodes of Young Justice and the brand new series Green Lantern: The Animated Series.

Here's my review for both shows:

Green Lantern: The Animated Series:

Recap:
SPOILERS_____________________________
The basic premises of the series is that Green Lanterns Hal Jordan and Kilowog steal a prototype Green Lantern ship with an experimental A.I. (dubbed "Aya" by Hal) and get stranded on the outer reaches of the galaxy where they fight of the impending threat of the Rad Lanterns. Within the first two episodes the beat and capture a Red Lantern by the name of Razer. The take him onto the ship and are currently trying to rehabilitate him. Although he still wields his Red Lantern ring he fights along side Hal and Kilowog in battle. Aya also developed a way to download her consciousness into a robotic body to help in the fight. Can two Green Lanterns, a Red Lantern, and a robot stop the Red Lantern Corp before they get to the main systems? Tune in to find out!

Review:
The series is very different from what I initially thought it was going to be like. They took a risk making a series about Green Lantern and not having him fight Sinestro. In addition, they took Hal and Kilowog away from all the other Green Lanterns and stranded them in the far corner of the galaxy. However, it seems to have payed off. The series, although taking a very unorthodox look at the Green Lantern franchise, seems to be going very well. The character of Hal Jordon has been a little fuzzy in the past and has had to be redefined many times, but this version on Hal Jordan seems very natural and works well in the series. Experienced voice actors Josh Keaton and Kevin Michael Richardson are perfect for there roles of Hal and Kilowog respectively. Grey DeLisle brings the all-new character of Aya to life and Jason Spisak's character of Razer gives the show some great conflict. The animation style through me off at first, but once you get used to it, it's a great series.

Young Justice:

Recap:
For those of you who don't know, Young Justice is about a team of young heroes and former sidekicks teaming up to take down threats. The show star Jesse McCartney as Robin, Khary Payton (previously the voice of Cyborg in Teen Titans) as Aqualad, Jason Spisak (who also voices Razer in GL:TAS) as Kid Flash, Nolan North as Superboy, Danica McKellar as Miss Martian, and Stephanie Lemelin as Artemis.

SPOILERS_____________________________
In the all new episodes we have added on Zantanna voiced by Lacey Chabert to the team as well as Red Arrow (formerly known as Speedy) who's voiced by Crispin Freeman. As we approach the end of the season we're finding out more about Miss Martian's past as well as Artemis' true identity. Things are also heating up as Red Arrow is trying to figure out who the mole on the team is.

Review:
The brand new episodes are great. They continue to uphold their excellent standards that they've set for themselves. I'm loving the plot developments and can't wait to see what happens as we end the season. This  is one of my favorite shows on the air right now and in my opinion the best show DC has made so far.

And that's about it for DC. Make sure you watch for Part 2 where I review what Marvel's up to. Catch ya later!
